Haverhill
Haverhill is a market town and civil parish in the county of Suffolk. It is set on the borders of Essex and Cambridgeshire, being located 14 miles south-east of Cambridgeshire and 47 miles north-east of central London. The town centre is situated at the base of a dip in the chalk hills of the Newmarket Ridge, and the Stour Brook, which eventually joins the River Stour outside of the town, passes through Haverhill. It is the second biggest town in the Borough of St. Edmundsbury, with a population of 27041. Whilst the town is surrounded by arable land, the economy is dominated by industry, due to the sizeable commercial estate and a business park consisting of numerous manufacturing companies in the south of the town. It is also the home of scientific firms and a number of waste processing, transportation and building firms. As a result of planning reviews completed in 1956 and 1962, striving to move families from London who had lost their homes amid World War II, Haverhill has progressively grown in the post-war period, with a quick threefold rise in population from the population of 5446 in 1962. Haverhill is referred to as a modern and young town. It has two Non-League football clubs, Haverhill Rovers F. C. and Haverhill Borough F. C., a baseball team, and various sporting activities are accessible at a leisure centre containing a swimming pool, a health club and a children's soft play area. Along with selecting from a number of independent and chain stores for completing shopping, a weekly market is run in the town every Saturday, which dates back to 1086. For all your home upgrades, make certain to make use of dependable experts in Haverhill to make certain of quality.
