Unfortunately, a quick and simple answer can’t be provided to this question as there are so many factors that influences the price of a curved stairlift. The bespoke nature of installing the necessary equipment is the main reason why the amount of new curved stairlifts greatly varies in the UK as well as the amount and complexity of the work required. For instance, if you purchase a curved stair lift with an intermediate landing, you’ll have to customize the track of the stair lift to fit your stairs which will make it a lot more expensive than ones without an intermediate landing.

With these in mind, providing an upfront and accurate estimate of a curved stairlift cost would be hard. As a result, this question can only be answered accurately taking into account all relevant factors by an expert after which they pay you a home visit. They’ll take into account whether  any existing fixtures and fitting will have to be removed or perhaps there’s a need for a custom feature to be installed and lots more.

Once you’ve made the decision to acquire a stairlift, the next step is to find a reliable company that’ll supply you with what you need. When it comes to stairlifts, Stannah is one of the industry leading manufacturers which supplies and installs a great number of various starlift models every year which goes a long way to enhance the lives of their customers.  When you go for Stannah, you can be rest assured knowing you’ll definitely get a top quality chair lift as well as an excellent service. The differences in Stannah stairlift price are showcased in the features of the model as well as your home stair configuration. For example, a Starla stairlift bought new for a straight stairlift will be about £2,000 less expensive when compared to the same model for a staircase that’s curved. This is due to the fact that the rails must be custom built to fit your staircase’s specifications.

Generally, a straight Stannah stairlift price for Stannah 600 will typically range from around £2300 to about £2800. On the other hand, a curved Stannah stairlift price for Stannah 260 will typically range from around £4,300 to about £4,800. Another great option is to hire a stairlift as the monthly rental costs are a good way to keep the Stannah stairlift price down - if the need is just for a short term.

When enjoying your home to the fullest gets hindered by your staircase, getting a stairlift is definitely a great option to put into consideration. If you’re wondering exactly how stairlifts work, then you’ve come to the right place! In this post, we aim to give you a detailed information of stairlifts’ operating process. Let’s take a look!

First and foremost, it’s important to state that all stair lifts possess three main components which includes the rail, the seat as well as the drive system ( also referred to as the carriage which powers the chairlift ). Using a stairlift is pretty easy, all you need to do is sit on the seat, fasten the seatbelt and push the rocker switch located on the seat’s armrest. Once done, this will make the stairlift move smoothly up the rail.

Generally, stair lifts possess a soft start or stop to make sure the chairlift glides gently from the beginning to the end of the staircase. If you want to stop the stair lift, all you have to do is to let go of the rocker switch and the unit will automatically stop moving. After the stair lift has gotten to the end of the staircase, simply pull up a level present on the seat’s side. This will make the stairlift’s seat smoothly swivel 90 degrees and locks itself in place to make for an easy exit. What’s more? Most stairlift’s seat, arms and footrest can be folded when not in use to make sure there’s enough free space along the stairs.

The quick and simple answer to this question is yes, stairlifts can be fitted to almost any staircases, however there are some instances where this won’t be very easy. There are a number of factors that determines whether a stairlift will perfectly fit your home. In this post, we aim to provide you with a good insight on these factors. Let’s take a look!

• The staircase width. The primary factor that really determines whether or not you can have a stairlift fitted is the width of your staircase. In the event whereby your staircase happens to be too narrow, this can lead to safety issues - users can hit their knee s on the rail or wall or the stairlift could also become a potential trip hazard. Generally, the minimum width a staircase can be to allow for a stairlift to be fitted is about 29 and 32 inches.
• The staircase height. Before going for a stairlift, the height of your staircase also needs to be put into consideration. This is prevent any potential head knocks when the stairlift is in operation. Normally, this shouldn’t be an issue for people considering a stairlift for their home, but the vertical space is one that must be considered if you’re planning to get a perch stairlift. This is due to the fact that when the user stands up, more vertical space will be taken compared to when he’s seated.
• The curved stair case. The challenge here is the fact with a curved staircase, the fittings and fixtures of your new stairlift must be tailored to the area in which it’ll operate.
