Wellington
Wellington is a little industrial community in rural Somerset, England. It is located around 7 miles (11 kilometres) south west of Taunton in the Taunton Deane area, near the boundary with Devon, which leaves the Blackdown Hills to the south of the community. The community is approximated to have a population of 14,549. Called Weolingtun in the Anglo-Saxon period, its name had transformed to Walintone by the time of the Domesday Book of 1086. From 1215, the town was granted a charter, enabling its development as a centre for profession when traveling from Bristol to Exeter. Significant restoring took place following a fire in the town in 1731, after which it became a centre for cloth-making. Wellington was house of Fox, Fowler and Firm, which was the last industrial bank permitted to print their own sterling banknotes in England as well as Wales.
