Fort Augustus
Ft Augustus is a settlement in the church of Boleskine as well as Abertarff, at the south-west end of Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands. The village has a population of around 646 (2001 ). Its economic situation is greatly dependent on tourist. Similar to most of the British Isles and Scotland, Fort Augustus has a nautical climate (Köppen: Cfb) with great summer seasons and also mild winter seasons. Like a great deal of the bordering area, sunshine levels are low at around 1,000 hrs per annum as well as temperatures are unforeseeable-- Ft Augustus holds the UK's joint lowest May temperature level record of -9.4 ° C (15.1 ° F). This is the current factor in the run up to summer season that such a reduced temperature level has been tape-recorded, suggesting it can become a frost trap on tranquil clear evenings due to its valley location. That same low lying topography can additionally trigger some heats once in a while-- Ft Augustus held the UK daily heat document for 16 December for nearly 80 years.
