Downham Market
Downham Market, often simply described as Downham, is a market town and civil parish in Norfolk, England. It rests on the side of the Fens, on the River Great Ouse, around 11 miles south of King's Lynn, 39 miles west of Norwich and 30 miles north of Cambridge. The civil parish has an area of 5.2 kilometres ² and also in the 2011 census had a population of 9,994 in 4,637 houses. For the functions of city government, the parish drops within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. It is part of South West Norfolk legislative constituency. It was a farming centre, developing as a market for the fruit and vegetables of the Fens with a bridge throughout the Ouse.
