Wigton is a market community in Cumbria, England. Historically in Cumberland, it exists just outside the Lake District in the borough of Allerdale. Wigton is at the centre of the Solway Plain, between the Caldbeck Fells and the Solway shore. It is offered by Wigton train station on the Cumbrian Coast Line, and also the A596 roadway to Workington. The town of Silloth-on-Solway exists twelve miles to the west, past Abbeytown.
