Tonypandy
Tonypandy is a community and area located in the area district of Rhondda Cynon Taf, within the historic region borders of Glamorgan, Wales, hing on the Rhondda Fawr Valley. A previous industrial coal mining community, today Tonypandy is best called the site of the 1910 Tonypandy riots. Tonypandy suggests fulling mill lea, from Welsh bunch (archaic tonnau) for lea, layland, pasture, meadow or unploughed land; pannu for fulling as well as ty for residence (cf. pandy).
