Welshpool
Welshpool is a town as well as neighborhood in Wales, historically in the region of Montgomeryshire, yet currently administered as part of the unitary authority of Powys. The community is positioned 4 miles (6.4 kilometres) from the Wales-- England border and low-lying on the River Severn; its Welsh language name Y Trallwng means "the marshy or sinking land". Welshpool is the fourth largest community in Powys. In English it was originally called Pool yet its name was altered to Welshpool in 1835 to differentiate it from the English town of Poole. It has a population of 6,664 (United Kingdom Census 2011), includes much Georgian style and is just north of Powis Castle. The neighborhood economic situation is primarily based upon agriculture and also regional market. The Smithfield Livestock Market is the largest one-day lamb market in Europe, whilst the town's industrial estates are house to numerous various types of little industry. Because of the community's little dimension and population the tourist attraction of high street stores is limited, suggesting many of the citizens are required to go shopping in neighbouring communities like Newtown and Shrewsbury.
