Gunnislake is a large village in east Cornwall, England, UK. It is set in the Tamar Valley almost ten miles (16 kilometres) north of Plymouth. Gunnislake is in the civil parish of Calstock and is close to Cornwall's border with Devon which tracks the course of the River Tamar. It has an electoral ward in its own name that includes much of Calstock and the surrounding region. According to the 2011 Census, the village has a permanent population of around 4574 people. Within early 2006, Hingston Down Quarry installed a new asphalt production tower which is easily obvious as it dominates the horizon of Gunnislake.
