Tywyn
Tywyn, previously meant Towyn, is a town, neighborhood, and seaside resort on the Cardigan Bay shore of southerly Gwynedd, Wales. It was formerly in the historical region of Merionethshire. It is famous as the area of the Cadfan Stone, a stone cross with the earliest well-known example of written Welsh, as well as the house of the Talyllyn Railway. At the time of the 2001 census, 40.5% of the population were recorded as Welsh audio speakers. By the 2011 census this had reduced to 37.5%. These fairly high numbers (provided the town's demography) reflect the use of both Welsh and also English as the medium of instruction in Ysgol Penybryn, the town's primary school. An Estyn examination report in 2010 noted that concerning 11% of the kids at the institution originated from residences where Welsh was the main language.
