Smoke Alarm in Aberdeenshire

Smoke alarms are vital for every home. Each year, the Fire and Rescue Service visit over 600,000 fires which result in over 800 deaths. These incidents could be prevented by getting smoke alarms placed in each property or business premises. Smoke alarms are self-contained devices that detect a fire and sound an alarm. They should be fitted to the ceiling, although in certain properties you might see them fitted near the top of a wall. They are able to detect fires in their early stages, giving you time to react to a fire. There are different sorts of smoke alarms and they can be battery-powered or wired up to the mains electricity. Alarms that are powered by the mains are thought to be safer as you do not need to worry about replacing the batteries when they run out. Providing you do not have a power cut, the smoke alarm should detect fires and keep you and your household safe. An electrician can help you set up a smoke alarm and connect it to your mains power.
