Smoke Alarm in Midlothian

Smoke alarms are important for every home. Every year, the Fire and Rescue Service visit over 600,000 fires which lead to over 800 deaths. These incidents could be prevented by having smoke alarms set up in each residence or business premises. Smoke alarms are self-contained devices that detect a fire and sound an alarm. They should be fitted to the ceiling, though in certain properties you might see them fitted near the top of a wall. They are able to detect fires in their early stages, giving you time to react to a fire. You will find various types of smoke alarms and they can be battery-powered or wired to the mains electricity. Alarms that are powered by the mains are thought to be safer as you do not have to worry about changing the batteries when they run out. Providing you don’t have a power cut, the smoke alarm should detect fires and keep you and your loved ones safe. An electrician will help you set up a smoke alarm and connect it to your mains power.
