Bishop Auckland
Bishop Auckland is regarded as a marketplace town and civil parish within County Durham in north east England. Through the Industrial Revolution, the town grew rapidly as coal mining became predominant as being an essential sector. The subsequent decline of the coal mining business in the late twentieth century is blamed for a fall in the town's fortunes in some other areas.
