Yarm
Yarm is a town in North Yorkshire, England. The town gets on the south bank of the River Tees and is historically part of the North Riding of Yorkshire. The bridge at Yarm noted the furthest reach of tidal flow up the River Tees till the opening, in 1995, of the Tees Barrage, which now controls river flow over Stockton. As the last bridge on the river prior to the sea, it was superseded by a new toll bridge opened up in Stockton in 1771. The earliest part of the community, around the High Street, is located in a loop of the river, and also the newer parts of the town include the factor where the River Leven satisfies the River Tees. The community is regulated as part of the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees.
