Stump grinding describes the process where the stump of a tree that has been felled is cleared away. Often after tree felling a few inches of the trunk and the root structure are left behind in the ground, making the surrounding area impractical to use in addition to possibly providing a habitat for bugs or harbouring tree diseases like honey fungus. If your back yard has stumps in the ground, having them removed can clear the space, delivering extra space to expand your lawn size or add fresh spaces to lay patio or decking. Specialist stump grinding firms can get rid of stumps of any size.
The technique usually involves trimming the stump as low to the ground as possible utilising a chainsaw, and afterwards using specialised stump grinding devices to grind away the stump. Stumps are ground down to roughly 10-12 inches under the ground surface to enable planting, although occasionally landscaping projects may require the stump to be removed deeper than this. The wood chipping that is produced by the stump grinding could be either infilled back into the hole and used as compost for other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company may remove it for you and dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way. Furthermore, numerous professional stump grinding companies have specialist thin machines that can be employed if there is restricted access to your garden such as via a side alleyway.
The typical cost of Stump grinding is around £280. However, costs vary based upon the location and the provider picked. The upper price range can be as high as £336.
