Bognor Regis
Bognor Regis is a seaside resort town and civil parish in the traditional county of Sussex on the south coast of England. It is administratively in the Arun district of the non-metropolitan county of West Sussex, and suburbs of the town are the villages of Felpham, Alwick, and North and South Bersted. Though the town has an oceanic climate similar to the whole of the UK, it has more than 1900 hours of sunshine typically, which is the highest recorded annual amount of sunshine in Britain. The coastal location of the town also stops extreme temperatures; since 1960, the temperatures recorded at Bognor have never fallen below -9.4 Celsius or risen above 31.5C, in comparison to other areas inside the Sussex Weald falling beneath -15 Celsius and increasing above 35 Celsius. From 1864, various wealthy Victorian households appeared in the town and a seaside resort was subsequently established by Sir Richard Hotham. Since the start of the 1930s, an amusement park as well as a zoo have been established, and a vacation camp in the 1960s has led the town towards more hotel accommodation with modern amenities. The population of Bognor steadily grown over the course of the 20th century, being at about 63,855 as recorded in the 2011 census. The post-war period witnessed partial commercial redevelopment, especially in the 1960s right after the building of a new shopping parade, health centre and high-rise block of flats. The town centre is mainly pedestrian friendly, making an incredibly accessible buying experience for the town's inhabitants and vacationers.
