Fencing in Boscastle

Interested in getting fencing installed in Boscastle? By using the Quotatis service you'll be able to check as many as 4 fencing companies in order to get the top deal available for the task you want.

Fencing is really important for all properties whether it be the front or back garden. From maintenance work to a complete installation of new fencing, working with a reputable contractor is highly recommended to get the best price available.

Fences act as a boundary to our households and with an installation you'll add more protection to your home preventing easy access to the back garden. Back garden fences are typically around six feet high, which straight away will make it harder for intruders to gain entry.

Decorative fencing or wooden picket fencing will often be most appropriate for the front garden, where security isn't as paramount. Instead, you're more likely to pick a front garden fence particularly for decoration in order to add something different.

For whatever style of fencing you're looking to have installed, be sure you use our free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Boscastle.

Boscastle

Boscastle is a village and fishing port on the north shore of Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of Forrabury and also Minster (where the 2011 Census population was consisted of). It is 14 miles (23 kilometres) south of Bude and also 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Tintagel. The harbour is a natural inlet safeguarded by two stone harbour wall surfaces constructed in 1584 by Sir Richard Grenville as well as is the only significant harbour for 20 miles (32 km) along the coast. The village extends up the valleys of the River Valency and River Jordan. Heavy rainfall on 16 August 2004 triggered considerable damages to the town. Boscastle lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The South West Coast Path travels through the town. The village, with its picturesque harbour, is a popular traveler location. Amongst the destinations are the Museum of Witchcraft, Uncle Paul's Emporium, the Boscastle ceramic store, and access to the South West Coast Path. Much of the land around Boscastle is possessed by the National Trust, including both sides of the harbour, Forrabury Stitches, high above the Boscastle as well as split into ancient "stitchmeal" growing stories, and large areas of the Valency Valley, known for its links to Thomas Hardy. The former harbour stables (part of the National Trust estate) are now a youth hostel run by YHA, popular with walkers. The National Trust runs a patronize the harbour, as well as a site visitor centre in the Old Smithy.

    FAQs

    How much does fencing cost?

The most basic fencing starts at about £27 per panel. But if you want something that’s more decorative and better quality, expect to budget £30-£40 per panel. If you choose to get a professional to help you put up your fencing, they’ll probably be able to get your panels at a cheaper rate.

What types of garden fencing are available?

There are quite a few different types of garden fencing that are readily available, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you’ve got a strict budget, waney edge panel fencing is a good option. It’s made up of horizontal wood strips and is generally the cheapest type of fencing. Another good option is closed feather-edge panels. These are a really strong type of fence, made up of concrete posts and panels of vertical strips of wood. You can also get more decorative types of fencing with combinations of vertical and horizontal wood strips.

What do I need to do to maintain my fence?

Properly erected fences shouldn’t require a great deal of maintenance. Any rotting boards can usually be replaced without replacing the whole panel. Timber fencing should be stained every 2-3 years. General maintenance is something you can carry out yourself, however, larger works may need a qualified professional to come in.

Fence ownership: who owns that garden fence?

When it comes to fence ownership and responsibility, this is often a subject of dispute between neighbours and understandably so. Owning a fence comes with a number of responsibilities such as arranging and paying for the maintenance and more. Therefore, if you’re not yet sure who owns the garden fence, then you’d probably want to have that sorted to make sure your property stays protected at all times. In this post, we’re going to give you an insight into some of the rules guiding fence ownership in order to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

There’s no rule of thumb on whether you own the fence on the right hand or the left hand side of your property. Therefore, if you’ve heard any “rules that states otherwise, you can fling that out the window because not everyone will own the left hand side to their fence. The first way to determine who owns the garden fence or which side of the fence you’re responsible for is simply by looking. Although this is not guaranteed or a definite way to determine ownership, it can go a long way to give you a good idea. As you would have expected, fences are most likely built on the land that belongs to the boundary’s owner with the further edge of the fence making the actual boundary. As a result, you can determine a fence ownership simply by identifying where the frames are.

Also, you can determine fence ownership using the title deeds for an official and accurate answer. A copy should be given alongside your paperwork which is received when purchasing your house.
