Fencing in Holsworthy

Interested in getting fencing installed in Holsworthy? By using the Local Quotes service it's possible to assess up to 4 fencing companies to get the top deal available for the job you need.

Fencing is extremely important for all houses whether it be the front or back garden. From repair work to a complete installation of new fencing, employing a respected company is highly recommended to get the very best price available.

Fences work as a perimeter to our homes and with an installation you'll add protection to your home and prevent easy access to your back garden. Back garden fences are usually around six feet high, which right away makes it more difficult for intruders to gain access.

Decorative fences or wooden picket fencing tend to be most suitable for the front garden, where security isn't as vital. Instead, you're more likely to select a front garden fence particularly for decoration and to add something different.

For whatever kind of fencing you're wanting to have installed, make sure you make use of our totally free and no obligation service to get the best deal available in Holsworthy.

    FAQs

    How much does fencing cost?

The most basic fencing starts at about £27 per panel. But if you want something that’s more decorative and better quality, expect to budget £30-£40 per panel. If you choose to get a professional to help you put up your fencing, they’ll probably be able to get your panels at a cheaper rate.

Do I need to tell my neighbours if I’m going to replace my fence?

It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.

What types of garden fencing are available?

There are quite a few different types of garden fencing that are readily available, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you’ve got a strict budget, waney edge panel fencing is a good option. It’s made up of horizontal wood strips and is generally the cheapest type of fencing. Another good option is closed feather-edge panels. These are a really strong type of fence, made up of concrete posts and panels of vertical strips of wood. You can also get more decorative types of fencing with combinations of vertical and horizontal wood strips.

Can I make my neighbour repair their fence?

For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.

    • Offer assistance. Since the cost of repairing a fence isn’t the cheapest thing to do, a lot of people might not be too eager to carry out this project and any friendly suggestion to do so may not be taken kindly. So if you feel that the this may be the issue, you can try offering some assistance to lessen the financial burden on your neighbour.
    • Put up your own fence. If all attempts fail, you can consider erecting your own fence. However, this must be on your own property and as close to the boundary as possible.
