Trying to find wood fence installers in Hook? Our wooden fence fitters in Hook will be able to offer the best quotations to have wood fencing installed.

Fencing is needed for both domestic and business buildings for many different reasons. It provides a boundary for back gardens and private land, acting as a measure of privacy as well as to keep people and animals in or out.

Features of wooden fencing include additional home security and aesthetic appeal. Having a fence set up, it becomes more difficult for trespassers to get into your property and garden. Be certain to pick a design that will look great too, particularly if for house reasons.

We are able to provide you with around four wooden fencing installers close to you, who can supply quotations for the work you wish completed. You'll receive a home visit from experts in Hook who will help you to decide on the right design for your house before completing the installation.

The fitting of a wooden fence will need less than one day to carry out, depending on the size of area you'd like secured.

Hook

Hook is a town and civil parish within the Hart district of northern Hampshire, England. It is set 6.2 miles east of Basingstoke and 36 miles northeast of Southampton and 41 miles northeast of London. Until the 18th century, the town included a scattering of farms. Positioned on the main London to Exeter stagecoach route, a turnpike road was built at the end of the 18th century to assist the navigation of the Scures Hill. According to the 2011 Census, Hook has a population of 8334 locals. Regardless of the fact that the population of the town remains modest, it has seen extensive expansion since development in the 1980s. Hook continued to broaden with the building and construction of the Holt Park residential district between 2004 and 2006. There is a high level of abundance in Hook, with rural estates including Tylney Hall Park and Garden, which is Grade II * listed, and Hook Common, which is a significant combination of forest and acid heathland. The town has practical and efficient rail connections to London Waterloo and Basingstoke, with indirect routes to Reading, Salisbury and Southampton from Hook Train Station. The development of the railway station in 1883 allowed the growth of the town after railway workers and commuters started to settle in the area. The town is noted for its considerable business community, such as the sizeable Bartley Wood Business Park being under a distance of 1 kilometre from the town centre. For all of your house upgrades, make certain to make use of trusted specialists in Hook to make certain of quality.

    FAQs

Can I make my neighbour repair their fence?

For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.

    • Offer assistance. Since the cost of repairing a fence isn’t the cheapest thing to do, a lot of people might not be too eager to carry out this project and any friendly suggestion to do so may not be taken kindly. So if you feel that the this may be the issue, you can try offering some assistance to lessen the financial burden on your neighbour.
    • Put up your own fence. If all attempts fail, you can consider erecting your own fence. However, this must be on your own property and as close to the boundary as possible.
How close can I build to my neighbour’s fence?

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!

In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:

    • Ensure to leave sufficient space for both the posts and footings
    • Stagger your fence posts in order to make sure you’re not digging your neighbour’s
    • Consider using concrete posts as they’re much stronger and will last a lot longer
    • Use kickers or plinths for raised gardens and flower beds
    • Make use of concrete plinths as they won’t rot over time like a wooden fence.
Do I need planning permission for fences?

Not if they are under 1 metre high if next to a road or 2 metres high elsewhere. It’s always recommended to check with your neighbours and the local authority if you are unsure. Other restrictions may apply, for example if a fence might impact driver visibility on nearby roads.

What types of garden fencing are available?

There are quite a few different types of garden fencing that are readily available, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. If you’ve got a strict budget, waney edge panel fencing is a good option. It’s made up of horizontal wood strips and is generally the cheapest type of fencing. Another good option is closed feather-edge panels. These are a really strong type of fence, made up of concrete posts and panels of vertical strips of wood. You can also get more decorative types of fencing with combinations of vertical and horizontal wood strips.
