Darvel

Darvel or Dervel (population 3,361) is a town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It goes to the eastern end of the Irvine Valley as well as is sometimes referred to as "The Lang Toon" (English: the Long Town). The community's Latin slogan, Non sibi sed cunctis, means "Not for ourselves, but for others". Darvel is positioned on the A71 road that ranges from Irvine on the west shore to Edinburgh on the eastern. When you’re laying artificial grass, it’s pretty hard to not get some wastage somewhere. Whether you’re laying it up against a hard edge like decking or a patio or you’re fitting the artificial grass right up to a fence or wall, you’re probably going to have to cut it somewhere. So how do you do it without damaging the artificial grass?
  1. If you’re cutting artificial grass at a fence or wall, fold over the turf so you can see where the backing material meets the edge.
  2. Using a very sharp pen knife, cut the backing material into the perimeter, using it to guide the blade.
  3. Push the artificial grass back against fence or wall and check that you’ve cut away enough. It’s always best to err on the side of caution and cut less to begin with.
  4. When you’re happy, brush the pile to make it look natural.

How long your artificial grass will last depends on its quality and how well you look after it. Most types of artificial grass should last at least 10 years.
