Buckley
The town of Buckley is in Flintshire, in north-east Wales. On a dual carriageway, it is two miles from the county town of Mold and close to the villages of Ewloe, Alltami and Mynydd Isa. Because of its position in the lee of the Snowdonian mountain range towards the west, it is located inside a rain shadow location. Because of this, the typical annual rainfall in Buckley is about 700 to 800 millimetres, which is significantly lower than the average rainfall in the whole of Wales. As per the 2011 Census, the town had a permanent resident population of about 15,600. With reference to its population, Buckley is the 2nd biggest town in Flintshire. A reasonable volume of the population work in the numerous light industries based in the town. Having said that, those who are unable to locate local work tend to commute to Deeside, Cheshire, Wrexham and Merseyside. The Hanson Cement Works is the only heavy industry that continues to exist within the town. Its 200 foot kiln dominates the skyline, can be seen from a number of miles away. Despite the fact that many of the local population consider the building to be an eyesore, the organization states that it has lowered the pollution created by the cement works by no less than 90 per cent. The big areas of common land in Buckley are primarily made use of for recreational purposes. It features a sizeable playground for young children, in addition to a duck pond which attracts a lot of wildlife. A funfair also visits during the Buckley Jubilee in the summer, held on the second Tuesday of July to coincide with the town's jubilee celebrations.
