Caersws
Caersws is a town and area on the River Severn, in the Welsh area of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 km) west of Newtown, and also midway between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, raising a little to 1,586 at the 2011 Census. In modern-day Welsh, Caersws essentially means "Ft Kiss", although sws likely stems from a few other source. It has been suggested that the website may maintain a Roman-era dedication to Zeus or protect the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
