Caersws
Caersws is a town as well as community on the River Severn, in the Welsh area of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 km) west of Newtown, as well as midway between Aberystwyth as well as Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, increasing slightly to 1,586 at the 2011 Demographics. In modern-day Welsh, Caersws essentially implies "Ft Kiss", although sws almost certainly derives from a few other source. It has been suggested that the site may preserve a Roman-era commitment to Zeus or preserve the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
