Stump grinding is the process where the stump of a previously felled tree is extracted. Generally during tree felling several inches of the trunk and the root system are left behind in the ground, making the nearby area unusable in addition to potentially appealing to bugs or harbouring tree diseases like honey fungus. If your back garden has stumps in the soil, having them cleared could clear the location, providing you with added space that you could use to grow your lawn or produce fresh areas to lay patio or decking. Specialist stump grinding companies can extract stumps of any scale.
The technique generally comprises slicing the stump as low to the ground as possible utilising a chainsaw, and then employing specialist stump grinding devices to grind away at the stump. Stumps are ground down to roughly 10-12 inches below the ground surface to enable replanting, although sometimes landscaping projects may require the stump to be ground deeper than this. The wood chipping that is generated by the stump grinding could be either infilled back into the hole and used as compost for other areas of your garden, or the stump grinding company could remove it for you and dispose of it in an eco-friendly way. In addition, lots of specialist stump grinding companies provide specialist narrow equipment that could be employed if there is restricted access to your garden such as via a side alleyway.
The typical cost of Stump grinding is around £280. However, costs vary based upon the location and the provider picked. The upper price range can be as high as £336.

Bakewell is a small market community as well as civil parish in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England, understood for a regional confection, Bakewell pudding. It lies on the River Wye, about 13 miles (21 km) south-west of Sheffield. In the 2011 census the civil parish of Bakewell had a population of 3,949. The community is close to the traveler destinations of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Although there is proof of earlier negotiations in the area, Bakewell itself was possibly established in Anglo Saxon times, when Bakewell remained in the Anglian kingdom of Mercia. The name Bakewell means a springtime or stream of a guy named Badeca (or Beadeca) and stems from this personal name plus the Old English wella. In 949 it was Badecanwelle as well as in the 11th century Domesday Book it was Badequelle. Bakewell Parish Church, a Grade I detailed structure, was founded in 920 and has a 9th-century cross in the churchyard. Today church was constructed in the 12th-- 13th centuries however was practically rebuilt in the 1840s by William Flockton. By Norman times Bakewell had gotten some importance: the town as well as its church (having 2 clergymans) are discussed in the Domesday Book and a motte and bailey castle was constructed in the 12th century. In the very early 14th-century, the vicar was terrorised by the Coterel gang, that evicted him and confiscated the church's money at the instigation of the canons of Lichfield Cathedral. A market was established in 1254 and Bakewell created as a trading centre. The Grade I-listed five-arched bridge over the River Wye was built in the 13th century and is just one of minority enduring residues of that period. Another Grade I-listed bridge, Holme Bridge, was built in 1664 and crosses the Wye on the north-eastern outskirts of the town. A chalybeate spring was uncovered and a bath house integrated in 1697. This resulted in an 18th-century proposal to develop Bakewell as a health club community in the manner of Buxton. Building And Construction of Lumford Mill by Richard Arkwright in 1777 was followed by the restoring of much of the town in the 19th century.
