Fencing in Brackley

Seeking wood fencing contractors in Brackley? Our wood fencing installers in Brackley are going to give you the best quotations for having wooden fencing installed.

Fencing is necessary both for home and commercial properties for many different reasons. It acts as a boundary for gardens and private land, serving as a measure of privacy as well as to keep people and animals in or out.

Benefits of wooden fencing include further household security and visual appeal. With a fence in position, it will become much harder for intruders to reach your house and garden. Be sure to select a design that will look good as well, especially if for house purposes.

We are able to supply you with as many as four wood fencing installers locally, who'll supply quotations for the work you need done. You'll get a home visit from specialists in Brackley who'll allow you to determine the right style for your property prior to completing the installation.

The fitting of a wooden fence takes less than one day to carry out, based on the size of area you'd like protected.

Average Wooden fencing cost in Brackley

Brackley

Brackley is a town within south Northamptonshire. It's roughly 19 miles (31 km) from Oxford and 22 miles (35 km) from Northampton. Inititally a market town which focused on the wool and lace trade, it was established around the intersection of trade routes in between London, Birmingham and the English Midlands and between Cambridge and Oxford. Brackley has a resident population of roughly 13,000 (2011 Census) which has increased from 2,467 in 1901. The town was the site of a historically important meeting involving the barons and representatives of the King in 1215, the year of the Magna Carta. In 1602, the metaphysical poet John Donne was elected as Member of Parliament for the Brackley constituency. Brackley is near the Silverstone motor racing circuit, and has some industry related to Formula One racing, particularly the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team which is located within the town, as well as the Force India F1 team which runs a wind tunnel on the former site of the town's north railway station. On the east outskirts of the town is H. Bronnley & Co., manufacturers of hand-made soaps who hold Royal Warrants of Appointment for supplying Queen Elizabeth II and the Prince of Wales. The Brackley Morris Men are one of only 7 'traditional Cotswold' Morris dancing sides remaining in England and the only one still running in Northamptonshire. Their history dates back to the 1600s when a solid silver communion plate was given to the parish. The plate which remains in the possession of St Peters Church is dated 1623, and is inscribed with the names of seven men, whom local folklore believes to have been the morris dancers. Brackley features football, rugby and tennis clubs. For all of your house improvement projects, make certain that you work with reliable specialists in Brackley to ensure that you get a good quality service.

    FAQs

Do I need to tell my neighbours if I’m going to replace my fence?

It’s a good idea to talk to your neighbours before you start any work to avoid confusion along the way. But if the fence is definitely your responsibility and on your property, there’s no legal obligation to notify them. It’s also a myth that you need to erect a fence with the flush side without posts facing your neighbour’s property.

How close can I build to my neighbour’s fence?

As a home or property owner, you’re generally allowed to build next to your neighbour’s fence as long as it’s on your own side of the property. With that in mind, there are certain laws that regulate how close a fence can be built to buildings on the same lot or neighbouring lots. In addition, there are also local bylaws that provide limitations on the placements as well as height of fences so as to address safety hazards. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight into how close you can build to your neighbour. Let’s take a look!

In general, if the fence is in your boundary then you’re allowed to build a 2-metre high brick or wooden fence or wall. However, this may differ depending on your location in the UK. As a result, you may want to reach out to your municipality’s building department in order to determine what these rules and limitations are in your area. In the events whereby there are no such restrictions but you’re still concerned, you can try informing your neighbour what your concerns are. However, if they’re not receptive there are some steps you can take to ensure your plans go as smoothly as possible. These steps include the following:

    • Ensure to leave sufficient space for both the posts and footings
    • Stagger your fence posts in order to make sure you’re not digging your neighbour’s
    • Consider using concrete posts as they’re much stronger and will last a lot longer
    • Use kickers or plinths for raised gardens and flower beds
    • Make use of concrete plinths as they won’t rot over time like a wooden fence.
Do I need to dispose of the old fencing myself?

Most responsible contractors will dispose of the old fencing via an approved commercial waste site. Do check that the cost of taking rubbish away is included in the quotes you receive, otherwise you might find you get stung when it comes to paying for the work.

Can I make my neighbour repair their fence?

For a lot of home and property owners in the UK, a common courtesy is being neighbourly and several people find it relatively easy to get along with the folks next door. However, for most individuals, where the major dispute arises most times is due to boundaries which can lead to impasse that may only be resolved through legal action. But since nobody wants that, when boundary issues become more than just passing a comment about the current condition of the fence, you may want to clue yourself up on what to do to get the desired action. If attempts have been made to talk to your neighbour to no avail, there are a couple of things you can consider to make “them next door repair their fence. In this post, we’re going to give you a good insight on these things to help you make informed decisions. Let’s take a look!

Firstly, it should be stated that if the fence poses an immediate danger then the usual legalities doesn’t apply. In this scenario, you may need to report to the local council who’ll take the necessary action on your behalf.

    • Offer assistance. Since the cost of repairing a fence isn’t the cheapest thing to do, a lot of people might not be too eager to carry out this project and any friendly suggestion to do so may not be taken kindly. So if you feel that the this may be the issue, you can try offering some assistance to lessen the financial burden on your neighbour.
    • Put up your own fence. If all attempts fail, you can consider erecting your own fence. However, this must be on your own property and as close to the boundary as possible.
