Caernarfon

Caernarfon is a royal town, community, and port in Gwynedd, Wales, with a population of around 10,000. It is along the A487 road, on the eastern shore of the Menai Strait, opposite the Isle of Anglesey. The city of Bangor is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) to the north east, whilst Snowdonia borders Caernarfon towards the east and south-east. Carnarvon and Caernarvon are English spellings of the name which were superseded in 1926 and 1974, respectively. The villages of Bontnewydd and Caeathro are close by. Rich natural resources around the Menai Straits allowed humans to live in prehistoric Britain. The Ordovices, a Celtic tribe, lived in the region through the period called Roman Britain. The Roman fort Segontium was created around AD 80 to control the Ordovices throughout the Roman conquest of Britain. The Romans occupied the area until Roman rule ended in Britain in 382, after which Caernarfon became part of the Kingdom of Gwynedd. During the late eleventh century, William the Conqueror ordered the construction of a motte-and-bailey castle at Caernarfon as part of the Norman invasion of Wales. He was unsuccessful, and Wales remained independent until around 1283. During the thirteenth century, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, ruler of Gwynedd, refused to pay homage to Edward I of England, which led to the English conquest of Gwynedd. This was followed by the building of Caernarfon Castle, one of the largest and most imposing fortifications built by the English in Wales. The city has developed into an important tourist centre and seat of Gwynedd Council, with a bustling harbour and marina. Caernarfon has expanded beyond its medieval walls and experienced heavy suburbanisation. Its population contains the biggest percentage of Welsh-speaking citizens anywhere in Wales. The castle and town walls are part of a World Heritage Site described as the Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd. how much gravel for driveway?

If you’re considering laying gravel on your driveway, then you’d probably want to know the amount of gravel you’ll need to complete the project. There are varying grades which are found in particles from fine to course, with a size ranging from 2mm to 64mm. Therefore, there’s a need to estimate the volume of the gravel while also having the rock’s size in mind. ✓ Measure the driveway. Multiply the width by the length and depth to get the size of the driveway in cubic feet. Meanwhile for cubic yards, you can divide the total cubic feet by 27. This is due to the fact that one cubic feet is same as 1.13 tons.

✓ Working with gravel. Here, you’ll have to calculate an underlay measurements differently. You can use 2 inches of road base that’ll be overlaid with 2 inches of gravel.
