Block Paving in Cranleigh

Block paving can look good as a driveway. It is a stylish and functional solution to your driveway and can give your home great kerb appeal. Whether you want a classic herringbone design or something a little different, there are plenty of block paving materials and possibilities available to you. The bricks used in block paving are mostly made of clay, but some are made up of different composite materials. One of the main advantages to block paving is that if a few of the bricks get damaged over time, they can be replaced easily. In addition, it means that it's easier to perform work under the surface of the paving without leaving a mark. The most common pattern that driveway companies lay is the herringbone pattern because it has the strongest interlock, rendering it a fantastic choice for driveways. The herringbone pattern is created by the tradesperson by setting the blocks at 45 degrees or 90 degrees to the perpendicular. Both types of herringbone pattern create a stylish and appealing look for your driveway that will make your home look fantastic to potential buyers. Complete our online form to speak to up to 4 driveway companies who can give you a quote for a block-paved driveway.

Cranleigh

Cranleigh is a large town and also civil parish, self-proclaimed the biggest in England, regarding 8 miles (13 kilometres) southeast of Guildford in Surrey. It lies eastern of the A281, which links Guildford with Horsham, on an alternative route that is not an A-road. It is in the north-west corner of the Weald, a large remnant woodland, the main regional residue being Winterfold Forest directly north-west on the northern Greensand Ridge. Until the mid-1860s, the location was usually spelt Cranley. The Post Office convinced the vestry to utilize -leigh to prevent misdirections to nearby Crawley in West Sussex. The older punctuation is openly visible in the Cranley Hotel. The beginning of the name is recorded in the Pipe Rolls as Cranlea in 1166 as well as Cranelega in 1167. A little later in the Feet of Fines of 1198 the name is written as Cranele. Etymologists think about all these versions to be the fusion of the Old English words "Cran", implying "crane", and also "Leoh" that with each other suggest 'a forest clearing up gone to by cranes'. The name is commonly believed to find from imputed big crane-breeding grounds at the Anglo-French named Vachery Pond, commonly locally called Vachery. The number of a crane adorns the old drinking water fountain of 1874 in 'Fountain Square' in the middle of the village. A set of cranes decorate the crest of the 21st century granted coat of arms of Cranleigh Parish Council.
