Parquet Flooring in Dyfed

Parquet flooring is a variety of wood flooring where small wood blocks or strips are installed together to produce a distinctive design over the entirety of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with each individual strip meticulously laid, but modern parquet can be bought in larger tiles or planks to provide the same appearance. Parquet floor is a very stylish flooring solution which is most effective in large rooms or hallways where the eye-catching pattern can be best exhibited. Parquet comes in a wide variety of different patterns, the most popular of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet can be manufactured from an enormous range of different woods, but oak is the most popular, along with mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet floor will come in either solid wood or engineered wood styles, the latter of which incorporate several sheets of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and needs little maintenance. It is, however, not fit for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or flex under these conditions. Parquet is commonly installed by using a number of tiles which are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive. A specialist parquet flooring company can recommend the most suitable wood types and styles for your home.
