Parquet Flooring in Telford

Parquet flooring is a variety of wood flooring in which small wood blocks or strips are installed together to produce a distinctive pattern across the entirety of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with each individual strip meticulously laid, but modern parquet can be bought in bigger tiles or planks to provide the same appearance. Parquet floor is a very stylish flooring option which is most effective in large rooms or hallways where the eye-catching design can be best showcased. Parquet is available in numerous different patterns, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet may also be manufactured from a huge array of different woods, but oak is the most popular, along with mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet flooring comes in either solid wood or engineered wood styles, the latter of which feature several sheets of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and needs little maintenance. It is, however, not fit for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or flex under these conditions. Parquet is commonly installed by using a series of tiles which are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive. An experienced parquet floor company can suggest the most suitable wood types and designs for your home.
