Parquet Flooring in Hastings

Parquet flooring is a sort of wood flooring where small wood blocks or strips are installed alongside one another to generate a distinctive pattern across the entirety of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with each individual strip meticulously laid, but modern parquet can be purchased in larger tiles or planks to offer the same appearance. Parquet floor is a very fashionable flooring solution which works best in large rooms or hallways where the appealing design can be best showcased. Parquet is available in numerous different patterns, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet may also be manufactured from an enormous variety of different woods, but oak is the most common, followed by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet floor will come in either solid wood or engineered wood types, the latter of which feature several sheets of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and requires little maintenance. It is, however, not suitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or bend under these conditions. Parquet is usually installed by using a series of tiles that are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive.
