I need around 3 square metres of flooring finished. Just cutting and laying the blocks with adhesive - no finishing required
Parquet flooring is a type of wood flooring where small wood blocks or strips are installed alongside one another to create a distinctive design across the whole of the floor. Parquet was traditionally installed with each individual strip carefully laid, but modern parquet can be purchased in larger tiles or planks to provide the same appearance. Parquet floor is an exceptionally elegant flooring solution which is most effective in large rooms or hallways where the appealing pattern can be best showcased. Parquet comes in numerous different styles, the most common of which are herringbone, chevron or checkerboard. Parquet may also be manufactured from a massive array of different woods, but oak is the most common, accompanied by mahogany, maple and cherry. Modern parquet flooring can come in either solid wood or engineered wood variations, the latter of which function several sheets of wood with a fibre board core and a top layer of the desired appearance of hardwood. Parquet flooring is durable and demands little maintenance. It is, however, not suitable for areas that contain lots of moisture or humidity as the wood will warp or bend under these conditions. Parquet is often installed utilising a number of tiles that are glued to the subfloor with an adhesive. An experienced parquet flooring company will be able to recommend the most suitable wood types and patterns for your home.
The typical cost of Parquet flooring is £2000. Costs differ based on the materials and the provider selected. The upper price range can be as high as £2300. The material costs are mainly approximately £500
